Pa Doyle’s penalty save in the 6th minute of injury sent the Starlights through to the last 8 of the Senior Football Championship in Bree on Friday night.

This defeat for Fethard left the New Ross district side on five points in Group B and sent them crashing out of this year’s championship. Three teams ended the campaign on 5 points each, Horeswood (0), Starlights (-1) and Fethard (-3), but Fethard lost out on scoring difference but had the penalty been converted they would have advanced to the knockout stages.
