Young Wexford riders in the money at Barnadown

Emer Kavanagh & MHS Tamara took fifth place in today's Leinster Summer Tour

Two young Wexford riders took fourth and fifth places today at Barnadown, in the final leg of the Mervue Leinster Summer Tour.

Abigail Boland & Camblin Tenesse jumped clear in 33.92, and less than 0.3 of a second, with 34.19, one place behind, was, Emer Kavanagh & MHS Tamara.

Captain Geoff Curran & Dowth Hall won the class, Kilkenny’s Eddie Moloney took the league title, and Patrick Hickey was crowned the leading young rider of the series.

Paul Kehoe, Minister of State at the Department of Defence, was on hand to congratulate Capt Geoff Curran, following today’s victory

Gerard O’Neill & Warriors Glory won the final leg of the New Heights Champions Series and Francis Connors was crowned the National Champion.

The action continues tomorrow at Barnadown, where the final of the Irish Breeders Classic takes centre stage. The top 25 five and six year olds have qualified for the final, local interest will centre on, Dawson’s Gold, owned by KM Sport Horse (John Kearney and Hugh Martin), Crevvyquinn Pearl, so unlucky in the Dublin Horse Show, ridden by Jason Higgins, owned by Mary Kehoe and Michael Condon, and Tullabeg Jackson, bred by Nicholas Cousins.
