Sinead Flanagan from Limerick has been crowned the 2019 International Rose of Tralee winner at the 60th anniversary 32- Roses show held in the Dome at Tralee over the past two nights, finishing up last night.
19 years old Emma Byrne from Chapel, Clonroche, was the Wexford Rose, appeared in the number two spot on the final night, and gave a strong performance having great fun with presenter Daithí Ó Sé.
She waved and acknowleged her proud parents, Patrice and Ted, who were smiling in the audience. Emma said her grand-dad (Michael Roche from Assagart, Foulksmills) was a great man in the equestrian world who holds the record in the RDS (Horse Show) where he won seven Supreme Championships and has never been beaten!
Emma Byrne was chosen as
Wexford Rose at a gala event held in the Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey, earlier this
year, and is a second year student at St.
Patrick’s College, Drumcondra and hopes to
become a primary teacher.
Always full of energy, Emma is experienced in
equestrian sport and also in dancing and entertainment and has been associated
with a number of local groups including Celtic Roots and the Rathnure Panto.
She was a fantastic ambassador for Wexford in the Rose of Tralee final
and everybody is very proud of her talent and performance.
