Wexford Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) on behalf of the Department of Rural and Community Development celebrated the allocation of funding of €150,000 to 101 community groups under the Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) 2019 at a presentation event in County Hall, Wexford, this afternoon.

Cathaoirleach of Wexford County Council, Cllr Michael Sheehan, paid tribute to all local community groups and associations across County Wexford and commended them on their continuing efforts to improve their local areas. Cllr Sheehan added that he hoped that this funding would allow community groups to continue the invaluable work they do on behalf of others in local areas throughout the county.

Chairperson of Wexford LCDC, Cllr Lisa McDonald also warmly welcomed the announcement of funding for all the local groups and said the LCDC looks forward to supporting the successful communities as they continue to respond to the local needs of their areas  to local needs, in a spirit of collaboration and co-operation. Cllr. McDonald added that the impact of the Community Enhancement Programme is considerable in augmenting existing projects and acting as a catalyst for new community initiatives.

The Programme is administered by Wexford County Council’s Community Department on behalf of Wexford LCDC., with funding available under the following measures:
