All set for great time at Friday’s Wexford Races

A large attendance is expected at the Friday Evening race meeting at Bettyville Park where the weather forecast is favourable and the track is in excllent condition due on an ‘ongoing watering programme’ during the recent excellent spell of summer weather.

The social side of the action is highlighted by the ‘Most Appropriately Dressed Lady Competition’, kindly sponsored by Monart Spa destination, Enniscorthy, and all is needed is to dress up well and show it off and you could be a winner! Well-known celebrity fashion expert Marietta Doran is the judge for the evening.

The entry is very satisfactory with 123 entries received for the seven-race card that commences at 5.50 pm.

5.50 pm; The LIAM LEACY PLUMBING & HEATING LTD. Maiden Hurdle of €11,500. About 2 miles. (21 entries).
6.20 pm; The MONART DESTINATION SPA Handicap Hurdle of €11,500. (Rated 80-102). About 2 miles, 4 furlongs. (16 entries)
6.50 pm; The FLOOD IRONWORKS Handicap Hurdle of €10,500 (Rated 80-95). About 3 miles. (21 entries).
7.20 pm; The FERRYBANK OPEL Beginners Steeplechase of €12,500. About 2 miles 4 furlongs. (14 runners).
7.50 pm; The OPEL 192 Handicap Steeplechase of €15,000. About 2 miles 4 furlongs. (14 runners).
8.20 pm; The FLOOD IRONWORKS Handicap Steeplechase of €12,000. (Rated 0-109). About 3 miles. (16 runners).
8.55 pm; The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares INH Flat Race of €11,000. About 2 miles. (21 entries).

The organisers are confident of strong Friday evening support and the standard of racing will be keen. Admission is €15; OAP/Students €10; under 16 are free. Special offers and group rates are also available.
