All roads lead to the Tagoat Steam Rally Field on Saturday for the Community Hide or Seek Concert where a number of bands will perform for free from 4.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
The purpose of the concert is to promote awareness of the Mental Health and Housing Crisis in Co. Wexford and to send a strong message to the current Government, former member of Wexford County Council, Mick Roche, told WexfordToday.com
“We need a big crowd. Bring the whole family for this,” said Mick, who explained that the concert offers free entry, live bands, kid’s area, food stalls, family fun and a fun fair.
The idea emerged from a public meeting called by the Bridgetown-man. He was asking people to get involved in an idea he had as post on Facebook and was requested to organise a music event for the Mental Health and the housing crisis and have it sorted in a couple of months to show the Government that if the all work together and prioritise these issues can be resolved.
Mick Roche said it’s only two weeks since the Facebook post went up and already they have a date and venue thanks to the Committee of the Tagoat Steam Rally which takes place on Sunday, July 21st. “They have kindly offered us the Saturday before it to have our music event. A great positive crowd turned for the meeting. A lot of great ideas. So we have a few bands. But we are looking for more and we will be having an open mic. We are looking for everyone to get involved or to help out. Let’s get together and make this as big as we can.”
