Jubilation spilled onto the Main Street of Gorey this evening as St. Michael’s Pipe Band played appropriate tunes to welcome the Leinster champions – senior and minor – back into the Model County following their phenomenal success at Croke Park.
Traditionally the North Wexford town is the first to see the trophies, greet the players, wave their flags and sing the songs.
Conor McDonald and Cathal Dunbar were the favourites.
Jubilation too, a short distance away, the pride of Naomh Éanna GAA Club.
In the senior final for the Bob O’Keeffe Cup (now won 21 times by Wexford) the score was WEXFORD 1-27 KILKENNY 0-27.
In the minor game; WEXFORD 3-14 KILKENNY 3-10.
