A 28 years old man has died in a road traffic collision on the M11 near Gorey this afternoon.

A collision involving a truck and another vehicle occurred on the M11 northbound lane shortly after the Clough roundabout at around 2.30 pm.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene where the vehicle went on fire as a result of the collision and the sole occupant of the vehicle received medical treatment at the scene.

The male occupant of the truck was uninjured. 

The road remains closed until further notice from the Clough Roundabout to Junction 23 (turn off for Courtown and Gorey) to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.
