A double header at Bellefield on Saturday afternoon sees the Wexford Senior Camogie and Intermediate teams in action.
The Intermediate side will be keen to return to winning ways, against Tipperary, in Group 2 of the Intermediate Championship, throw in at 3pm. They lost out to Carlow last weekend on a score of 2-11 to 0-11, but for much of the game Wexford looked to hold the upper hand, the home side bagged their goals at vital times, and the inexperienced visitors failed to take many scoreable chances.
The Senior side face Kilkenny, last year’s beaten finalists, in their opening game of this year’s championship, at 5pm. Kilkenny have the advantage of a game last weekend, they beat Galway 1-13 to 0-14 in Athenry. Wexford manager, Barry Kennedy, will be looking for a big improvement in his side’s performance following a poor showing in the league.
