Oulart-The Ballagh 0-15
St Martin’s 1-11
Oulart The Ballagh retained their league crown in a thrilling finish against rivals St Martins on Monday evening in Farmleigh.
A game with very little between the two sides over the last couple of years, JJ Doyle was by far the happier manager after the opening quarter, as his side raced into a 1-05 to no score lead, aided by the wind, and some very well worked scores with points coming from Chloe Fox and Linda Bolger and a neatly taken goal by Lisa Firman.
Oulart did not panic and hit 3 points on the bounce from Usula Jacob(2) and Anais Curran and it went point for point up to the half time break, St Martins led 1-07 to 0-06.
Oulart introduced Shelley Kehoe at half time, within seconds she had the ball over the bar, followed by another one from her sister, Stacey. It looked from here that Oulart might take over, but St Martins regained their composure, with 10 minutes to go, they led 1-11 to 0-09. Oulart finished the game with 6 unanswered points, and Shelley Kehoe got the winner deep into injury time.
