Fianna Fáil Front Bench Spokesperson on Mental Health James Browne has been informed that the HSE has taken possession of Arden House in Wexford Town and will commence alteration works on the new child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) centre next week.
These works will lead to Wexford town’s CAMHS base moving from Slaney House to a new centre named Arden House.
In March 2019, Deputy Browne received confirmation that the HSE planned to conclude the tendering process. It’s understood that the contracts have now been signed, giving HSE full occupation of the building – Arden House.
“I welcome the news that the HSE will carry commence alteration works at Arden House next week. This has been a long road, marked by several delays”, commented Deputy Browne.
The Wexford TD was previously told the estimated completion of works at Arden House would be in Quarter 3 2019.
“I’m constantly raising this matter with the Minister for Health and the HSE. It’s disappointing that we are still some months away from Arden House’s opening. Nevertheless, it’s good to see that this project is now going ahead”, Deputy Browne concluded.
