The appropriately named Bravemansgame, last Sunday’s Killinick 4yo winner, was knocked down to Tom Malone/Paul Nicholls for £370,000 (€432,641), at Thursday’s Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale. The French bred gelding was a €48,000 purchase for Donnchadh Doyle at the Derby Sale last June.

Donnchadh Doyle’s Farouk d’Alene won his maiden, last Sunday, in Belclare, by 18 lengths, Margaret O’Toole had to go to £260,000, to purchase the son of Racinger for Gordon Elliott.

Hold That Taught, another winner from last Sunday, this time at Turtulla, for Denis Murphy, was knocked down to Venetia Williams for £220,000, he was a €70,000 purchase at last year’s Derby Sale.

On the evening 20 of the 24 horses offered for sale were sold, the aggregate was £3,165,000, giving an average price of £158,250, and a median of £147,500, all of which shows an increase on last year’s sale.
