Wexford TD James Browne has received confirmation that plans for a new child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) centre in Wexford town will go ahead.
It was feared that plans to move from Slaney House to Arden House would be abandoned.
However, Deputy Browne has learned that Arden House will soon cater for the Wexford South CAMHS team.
“I welcome the news that the HSE anticipates concluding the tendering process for Arden House shortly. This has been a long road, marked by several delays. It’s good to hear that recent rumours surrounding the project’s fate are unfounded”, commented Deputy Browne.
The Deputy has been advised that once the tendering process is completed a works programme will be carried out with an estimated completion in Quarter 3 2019.
“I’m disappointed that the new premises won’t be completed until this autumn. Nevertheless, the answer I received shows that Arden House will finally go ahead and there is an end in sight”, Deputy Browne concluded.
