A stunning jump-off performance from Enniscorthy’s Bertram Allen and the 11-year-old stallion GK Casper, owned by Ballywalter Farms, Gorey, gained victory in Friday’s feature competition at the five-star Global Champions Tour show in Doha, Qatar.
With 16 combinations making it through fault free to the second round, the jump-off was always going to be very competitive and at the finish, Allen had to be at his brilliant best to take the win.
A scorching clear round in 33.75 seconds saw him take the top prize of €36,450, outpacing a top class field.
