Gorey were hosted UCD on Saturday Enniscorthy’s Astro. 
UCD took the push back and entered Gorey’s circle for the first time winning a penalty corner immediately. UCD set up, taking a shot from the top of the circle. Gorey’s Bridget Kenny and keeper Fiona Mythen saved the initial shot but were unlucky when the ball deflected up into the goal (0-1).

Gorey restarted and won a penalty corner of their own, Robyn Swords pushed out, Sarah Merrigan slipped the ball left with Nicola Ryan taking a shot but it saved by the keeper. Ailbhe Booth tapped the ball through the keepers legs where Zoe Kenny was there to finished it off (1-1).

UCD restarted but lost possession midfield, Gorey applied pressure winning a series of penalty corners. A Gorey set piece from Sarah Merrigan and Nicola Ryan gave Gorey the lead heading into the half-time break.

Gorey restarted the 2nd half maintaining the larger amount of possession. On the day, Gorey were too strong. Gorey made changes, which lead to further goals from Zoe Kenny, Sarah Merrigan and Robyn Swords. 

This leaves Gorey just one point behind league leaders, Gene, but with a game in hand, the North Wexford are back on the road next weekend as they take on Trinity in the League next weekend.
