Enniscorthy M1 lose out to UCD

Enniscorthy mens first team travelled to Dublin to take on UCD last Saturday. The visitors were hoping the could do double on UCD and beat them for the second time this season, but it wasn’t to be.

The first half say both sides settling into the game feeling their opposition out with neither side pushing forward too much. UCD were threatening more but the work rate of defenders Ivan Rothwell, Glenn Chapman, Andrew Rothwell and Simmons were dealing with their threats.

At half time it was anyone’s game.

The game opened up in the second half as both sides decided to try and make their mark, however it was the home side that became dominant. While Enniscorthy did threaten through forwards Seb Rynhart and William Durnan, UCD were the side that scored first. They went on to score 3 goals in the second half and see out the game, keeping all three points in Dublin.

The Wexford side will have a break this coming weekend before they take on Rathgar for their first home game of 2019 on Saturday 2nd February.
