With the All-Ireland One Act Drama Festival only on sleep away from illuminating the stage Kilmuckridge has already slipped into festive mode with the opening of a Group Art Exhibition entitled ‘Reminiscent’ in the Upton Court Hotel tonight (Thursday).
The work of three exceptional contemporary artists living and working in Wexford, Paula Tate, Sheena Furlong and Trish Middleton, and containing 40 pieces, the exhibition was officially opened by Lisa Byrne, Visual Arts Manager of The Presentation Centre, Enniscorthy, and Michael Johnston, Festival Director.
Ms Byrne complimented the artists on their work, while Mr Johnston pointed out that they are local artists and the Upton Court Hotel and the All-Ireland One Act Drama Festival are very proud of the artists and delighted to showcase their individual talent in a group exhibition.

“The process of painting or drawing nature calms my mind and allows me to process my own thoughts and feelings,” said Paula Tate, who normally exhibits other people’s work, but is delighted to showcase her latest work.
Sheena Furlong was brought up in the mountains of south Wales and then moved to live on the south-east coast beside the sea. “I paint towards a general audience and for my own enjoyment, constantly changting ideas and techniques,” said Sheena, who added; “Every day is a new discovery.”
Trish Middleton was born and raised in the tourist seaside village of Kilmuckridge, then left for the bright city lights of Dublin where he stayed and worked for 11 years. “Art is my passion and my life,” she stated.
The exhibition runs in conjunction with the drama festival, from Friday to Sunday inclusive, and is a unique cultural event well worth a visit.
