Following reassurances from the Department of Justice and the management of Hotel Rosslare, it has now been deemed unnecessary to hold a public meeting scheduled for tonight (Tuesday, 27th) as previously advertised.
Concerns surrounding the future plans for the hotel were expressed locally and on social media after it re-opened for business last weekend.
An official statement from Hotel Rosslare confirms that “this is not a provision centre.” The full text is as follows;
“Our bar food menu launches this Thursday which we hope will be something new and exciting for Rosslare Harbour. The hotel is now opened to all patrons, from all parts of the world, without prejudice.
“The hotel closed five weeks ago with the loss of 25 jobs in the locality along with business for local suppliers. The re-opening reinstated most of these jobs and we hope to ensure job security for all the employees.
“The town has suffered a loss of jobs and two other hotels have closed over the last couple of years. We intend to fully support all local sporting and community organisations in the future.
“This is not a provision centre. We would greatly appreciate your support in our local bar where we hope to provide great food, great service and great craic over the coming years and long into the future.”
The Public Information Evening on Monday, December 3rd, hosted by the Rosslare Harbour/Kilrane Village Development Team will, however, go ahead where a range of positive projects under the town and village renewal scheme will be unveiled.
