A 23 years old man has been fatally injured after he came off his motorcycle at Hillbrook Lower on the R748 road from Aughrim to Carnew.
It is understood that he was travelling towards Tinahely when the incident occurred around 2 pm.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the tragedy to assist them with their enquiries
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has since been removed to Naas General Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The scene will be preserved overnight to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators tomorrow morning. Local diversions are in place.
