Killer Bee blazed around the Enniscorthy track in the fastest time of the year, 28.71, on Monday night, to land the 8,500 euro first prize, in the final of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Future Champion Unraced Stake.
The winner is owned and trained by Peter Comerford in Kildare, and his next outing will be in the Comerford Cakes in Shelbourne Park on Saturday week. Bred in the purple, he is a March ’17 son of Kinloch Brae, out of the Oaks winning, Ballydoyle Honey, who won 23 of her 44 races.
At the line Jazz Beat was 4.5 lengths in arrears, with another length back to Milking It, both of which are trained by Peter Cronin in Waterford.
Ballinabola Gin, the only local dog to make the final, took 6th place and pocketed the 500 euro.
