A site at Clonard Little, on the edge of Wexford town, is the preferred site location for a new Educate Together National School and purchase of the site has been agreed subject to planning.
Deputy James Browne is delighted at the news. “As a TD but also Chair of the Board of Management of the School I am delighted to get this news. This is very positive news for the school and for Wexford Town.
“Hopefully the purchase will go through quickly and the school, which is in temporary accommodation can look forward to a new purpose built state of the art school in the near future”, he added.
Deputy Browne serves as Chair of the school’s Board of Management and has been working on the project for many years along with the board of management, staff and the school principal Maria Caesar.
Almost 170 pupils attend the school and its numbers are growing rapidly. The school is currently located in temporary accommodation in Clonard. However, the school’s current building is now up for sale.
