The top scorer from play in the 2018 Wexford Senior hurling Championship looks like it will be Naomh Éanna‘s Conor McDonald. Last year he lost out on the ‘Golden Hurl’ by a single point to Rory O Connor. Unfortunately for McDonald the suspension of his own team-mate, Cathal Dunbar, for the final means it would require a near-miracle for McDonald to lose the title.
St Martin’s Jack O Connor and Ciaran Lyng are the only two finalists within 20 points of McDonald. It should also be noted that the past two Golden Hurl winners, Nicky Kirwan and Rory O Connor have also won the County Title the same year – maybe a good omen for the Gorey men.
