Gearóid Devitt will take up his new role as County Secretary, in Wexford GAA, on Monday the 3rd of December.
Gearóid has worked with the GAA since 2007, he began as a Tour Guide and Museum Assistant , spent a year as GAA Development Officer, from there he spent 3 years as Post Primary Schools & Higher Education Games Administrator. Since 2015 he has served as the GAA’s Player Welfare Administrator, working with the Medical, Scientific and Welfare Committee, providing advice on injury prevention, concussion, anti-doping, player safety, etc. He co-ordinated the first ever GAA Player Conference in February.
He was secretary to both the Central Hearings Committee and Central Appeals Committee. He served as chairman and and PRO of DCU Hurling Club, as well as coaching the Fresher’s team.
He went to Mungret National School, and St Clements College in Limerick.
We wish him the best of luck in his new post and hopefully he can oversee some much needed silverware heading back to the county.
