JOE DIXON launched his Seascapes exhibition in Partridge’s Restaurant and Cafe as part of Culture Night in Gorey.

Joe Dixon’s solo exhibition While you were Sleeping opened in Patridges Restaurant and Cafe on Gorey’s Main Street tonight and it was one of a number of events celebrating Culture Night in the town.
A well-known photographer, Joe told WexfordToday.com that he hopes people will enjoy his collection of seascape images and be as enthralled by the beautiful light as he was when capturing the amazing images along the North Wexford coastline.
“I have no titles to individual images because as you view each image I want you to to become part of the location, to be standing alongside me as I click the shutter button,” said Joe, who added; “Together, sharing that moment of mother nature’s creation.”
Joe Dixon’s exhibition will continue for a number of weeks.
Meanwhile, a few doors away, the Book Café was jammed with people listening and enjoying a contribution from the Gap Arts Festival talented artists.
Famous actor Garreth Keogh gave some readings while the highlight for the majority presence was the screening of a short film about Titania’s Palace, which was premiered at the Gap Arts Festival in August.
There was an evening of readings and music at Gorey Visitor Centre where author Nuala O’Connor launched her latest novel Becoming Belle.
Traditional music sessions are continuing at French’s and the Loch Garman Arms.
Culture Night was celebrated across Co. Wexford at such locations as Wexford town, Enniscorthy Castle, a number of venues in Gorey and New Ross, and with a film documentary presentation in the Stella Maris Hall, Kilmore Quay, and the Hook Lighthouse, and reports suggest that it has been the most successful Culture Night ever with a growing audience and a larger and more varied programme of events.
