Students of Presentation Secondary School at School St., Wexford, picked up their Junior Certificate results today (Wednesday) at the gym while the rest of the classrooms remained closed.
An investigation is under way following “an incident” on Tuesday night. It is understood that a small amount of damage was caused after a fire was discovered in a classroom and units of Wexford Fire Service were called to the scene.
The school issued a short statement on its website indicating it is “grateful to Wexford Fire Service and our own caretakers for their quick response.”
The school will reopen for normal business on Thursday morning.
