Gardai in Gorey are continuing an investigation into an outbreak of fire which caused serious damage to a number of retail units on the Arklow Road, Gorey around 1.30 am yesterday (Monday) morning.

Gardai would like to hear from anybody who may have noticed any suspicious activity at the scene of the blaze which was located on the forecourt of the Topaz Daybreak premises.
The Superior Vape Shop and the Body Craft Gorey were completely gutted in a massive blaze and damage was also caused to adjoining premises, Curves, Polska Skelp Groceries and the Cash 4 Clothes Shop.
A spokesperson for Gorey Fire Service said it was “a very big fire that went through the roof” and two crews remained on the scene until 5.30 am.
Gardai are treating the incident as “a crime scene.”
A number of people are unemployed as a consequence of the incident and parts of the affected premises will need to be completely demolished for safety reasons.
