Job Description
Coiste Chontae Loch Garman CLG (Wexford County GAA Committee) is now seeking a suitably qualified professional, with a passion for Gaelic Games and Irish culture, to fill the role of County Secretary/Chief Executive and deliver on its mission, values and strategy. The successful candidate will report to the County Committee and will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and support to full-time and voluntary teams within the County as well as representing the Committee’s interests at provincial and national level as required, and will oversee the development of Wexford GAA.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):

Working with the Executive of the County Committee on developing the vision and strategies of the Committee, and implementing long and short-term plans;

Assist the Chairperson with production of an annual operations plan and a framework to enable officers to operate as an effective team and managing relationships between all stakeholders;
-
Overall responsibility for fixtures planning, in conjunction with the Competitions Control Committee;
-
Working with the County Treasurer on the management of all the Committee’s financial services/operations to ensure proper governance and accountability;

Ensuring the effective use of the Committee’s financial and physical resources and management of future capital projects;

Oversee and responsibility for ensuring the games development team in the county deliver on growing participation and improving standards in line with targets set out in the annual county plan;

Overseeing and strengthening existing and new strategic and commercial partnerships
-
Providing strong leadership, guidance to the full-time team within Innovate Wexford Park in ensuring that the voluntary structure at club and county level is effectively supported in line with ethos and values of the GAA;

Performance management of the Committee’s full-time and part-time staff, overseeing the delivery of agreed goals and objectives;

Oversee and provide support to inter-county management teams and oversee the implementation of the County Committee’s responsibilities in relation to the appointment of suitable personnel to work with teams and the implementation of the Players’ Charter and such other support as may be required, in line with the policies of the County Committee and the Association, to ensure the highest possible performance levels of Wexford’s inter-county GAA teams;

Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the County Committee.
Essential Criteria

An excellent understanding of the GAA and its structures, and in-depth interest and involvement in coaching and games development;

An understanding of the particular challenges facing Wexford GAA at present and into the future;

Proven track record at management level; Minimum five years’ experience in a management role;

Established leadership and influencing skills;
-
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including IT;
-
Strong experience of financial management;
-
Experience of policy development and strategic planning;
-
The ability to integrate working in a professional position with providing support to volunteers;
-
Track record of working in high-pressure situations and to strict deadlines;
-
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities;
-
A willingness to work evenings and weekends;
-
Exceptional attention to detail.
Desirable Criteria

Appropriate third-level qualification an advantage;
