Gorey Market House Festival is noted for bringing large numbers onto the Main Street and last night’s renewal was no different – they were literally hanging from the rafters in an atmosphere of celebration and enjoyment.
Labelled as “the young people’s music” the programme of entertainers went down well and they were rocking and rolling and enjoying themselves into the late hours.
Today’s (Saturday) highlights include busking on the Main Street, Play Day in Gorey Town Park from 12.30 – 5 pm with puppet shows, magicians, stilt walkers, food stalls and more, and music from Jake Carter and Fusion. SOUTH EAST RADIO will be broadcasting from the Main Street with Dave Redmond in the afternoon.
On Sunday, the local’s favourite, Tommy Carroll, will be entertaining, also Sam Ali, The Remedy Club, Dave Clark, Johnny the Fox, and the headline act – the best of the festival – is the magnificent and much-loved Hothouse Flowers on the main stage on Sunday night.
Gorey Art Circle will hold the annual summer exhibition in Gorey Market House and on Bank Holiday Monday the Naomh Éanna annual Field Day will take place from 2 – 5 pm.
