Wexford bred horse impresses at Rincoola

Greenfort Gorgeous George booked his Dublin ticket on Tuesday in Rincoola.

Greenfort Gorgeous George, bred in Rathnure by George Masterson, took the first qualifying spot in the 5yo section of the Young Event Horse Series at Rincoola, County Longford on Tuesday afternoon.

 

The bay gelding, by Kings Master, out of the Hernando dam, Kokopolli Star, out of a Troy dam, out of a Sadler’s Wells dam, is owned by Emma McNamara, Crecora, County Limerick and was ridden by Lee Maher. The dam was trained by Bryan Smart, she ran on flat in the UK, and has bred the 5 times winning, “Going For Broke”, by Goldwell, owned by JP McManus and trained by Rebecca Curtis.

George will now take his place in the Main Ring on the Thursday of the Dublin Horse Show.

Lisa Murphy won the Connemara Performance.

Rincoola proved to be a happy hunting ground for Oulart girl, Lisa Murphy, as she took first place in the Connemara Performance on Saturday morning and this combination are now RDS bound for the Horse Show in August.
