Minister for Education & Skills, Richard Bruton has announced that a new contractor has been found to complete the works at Loreto College in Wexford. This means the new school can open in September.
The collapse of Carillion was causing extreme distress for the staff and parents of pupils attending the school.
Minister Paul Kehoe said; “This has been a huge priority of mine – for the benefits of the students of this great school – and I’m delighted we finally have some good news.”

LORETO COLLEGE WEXFORD
Minister Bruton welcomed confirmation from from DIF and the Project Lenders that arrangements are being put in place for the appointment of a replacement contractor to Loreto College, Wexford, by the end of August.
Today’s announcement is a key milestone in a phased restructuring package in relation to the arrangements for completion of all six buildings, including Loreto College, Wexford.
The completion of the schools was delayed due to the liquidation of Carillion Construction Ltd in January of this year and the examinership and liquidation of Carillion’s sub-contractor, Sammon.
