Cork 1-19
Wexford 0-07
Wexford turned in a rather lacklustre performance against All-Ireland champions, Cork, in the Liberty Insurance All- Ireland Camogie Championship in Pairc Ui Rinn on Saturday afternoon.
They started slowly and were always chasing Cork shadows, it was 23 minutes into the game before Wexford registered their first score, a Linda Bolger free made it 0-07- to 0-01.
The sweltering heat ensured testing conditions and the referee saw fit to call a water break midway through the first half.
The St Martins free taker raised another flag in the 33rd minute, and Stacey Kehoe scored from play shortly after to leave the half time score 0-09 to 0-03 in favour of the home side.
The second half did not start any better as Cork raised the first flag four minutes into the re start, and things when from bad to worse as Sarah O’Connor was stretchered off with what looked to be a knee injury.
Cork continued their scoring dominance, we had to wait until the 52nd minute for Wexford to register their first score of the second half, another placed ball from Linda Bolger.
