Greyhound Racing- No joy for Cushie in the Champion Unraced at Kilkenny

Ballymac Tabor won the Connolly's RED MILLS Champion Unraced at Kilkenny

There was no joy for the sole Wexford representative in the final of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Champion Unraced Stake at Kilkenny on Sunday night. The John Codd and Diana Brodie owned, Cushie Jet, took fourth place behind Ballymac Tabor in 29.09.

Cushie, unbeaten in the competition, was installed the 4/6 favourite, he did’nt make his usual slick start from trap six, Droopys Saga matched him to the opening turn, both collided on the bend, and to add to his woes he was baulked by Ballymac Arminta.

He was seven or eight lengths behind the leader off the second bend, but ran on strongly to take fourth place, beaten only 3 ¾ lengths at the line.

The son of Droopys Jet looks to have a bright future and barring injury he will be a force to be reckoned with in the major stakes throughout the country.
