Handlers championship title is tense!

A double for Donnchadh Doyle at Tralee and a single success for Colin Bowe this afternoon (Saturday) at Portrush means that the Kiltealy handler is leading his neighbour Donnchadh from Ballindaggin by one winner – 29 wins to 28.
At the North Kerry venue, Doyle saddled the winner in both divisions of the maiden race for four year olds, Silent Assistant with James Walsh up by five lengths and the Rob James partnered First Lord De Cut by a head.
Bowe responded when Port Stanley scored by one and a half lengths under Barry O’Neill in the maiden race for four year olds at the Antrim track.

Luke Murphy, Inch, deprived Barry O’Neill of a double when Sambremont scored by two and three-quarters of a length over the better fancied Vinnie Luck – both trained in Fermanagh by David Christie.
And to finish off on the northern circuit for this point-to-point season, Enniscorthy jockey Aaron Sinnott rode his fourth winner on Aonghus Song for Claregalway handler, Gerard Kyne, by five lengths in the geldings’ maiden race confined to novice riders.
Sunday action today at Inchydoney in Cork and the season comes to a conclusion after fixtures on the June Bank Holiday weekend.
