The John Codd and Diana Brodie owned and bred, Cushie Jet (Droopys Jet/ Except Change), is sure to be installed a very short price for Sunday’s final of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Champion Unraced at Kilkenny. The competition carries a winner’s prize of €10,000.
Without doubt, Jet, is the most exciting young greyhound in training in the country at the moment, unbeaten, he is the only greyhound to have broken the 29 second barrier at Kilkenny this year, and he has produced the fastest two runs at the track this year.
Friday night’s semi-final was probably his most impressive to date, he flew from traps to win the second semi-final in a fantastic 28.73, Ballymac Tabor was five and a half lengths back in second place and the fast finishing Droopys Saga by three parts of a length back in third.
The opening semi-final was won by the Murt Leahy trained Droopys Berry (Droopys Sydney/ Droopys Safina) in 29.02 with Ballymac Arminta three parts of a length back in second and Droopys Policy three and a half lengths behind in third place.
