Housing Minister visits Oylegate village

Minister Damien English TD, Cllr Keith Doyle, Chairman, Enniscorthy Municipal District Council, Council officials and families at the specially designed housing scheme at Oylegate.

Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Damien English, T.D. visited the village of Oylegate last Friday to officially open two specially designed family homes funded by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government. Two families can now look forward to a fresh start in these new homes which will cater for their specific family needs.

Welcoming the development, the Minister said: “I mainly want to congratulate the new tenants and to wish them every happiness in their new homes. It is the real pleasure of this job that as well as dealing with plenty of challenges and problems, I also get to come to an event like this one and meet the people whose lives will be transformed for the better by the provision of high quality housing”.
The new homes were designed in-house by Wexford County Council Housing Department specifically with the needs of these families in mind. They were built by local contractor Quarryview Developments Ltd. on behalf of the Council with funding provided by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government.
