An interesting music related event coming up in Gorey Library ón Tuesday, May 8th at 7 pm when Jackie Hayden, author of ‘My Boy’ will discuss his relationship with Phil Lynott and how he wrote ‘My Boy’ with his mother, Philomena.
Phil Lynott (1949-1986) was one of the best known musicians and songwriters of his generation, born in West Bromwich in the UK, he grew up in Dublin, and had a number of hits with the popular rock band, Thin Lizzie, including the well-known tune, ‘Whiskey in the Jar’.
Jackie will discuss the challenges and difficulties faced in writing the book while Phil Lynott’s mother still grieved over his death.

JACKIE HAYDEN will speak at Gorey Library.
