Wednesday’s leg of the “Stepping Stones To Success Eventing League”, sponsored jointly by Top Spec and Shires Equestrian, took place at the Wexford Equestrian Centre in beautiful sunny conditions.

The best placed local rider in the 4yo section was Ann Lambert; she rode her own, Miss Ellie, into fourth place on a score of 215.

International Event Rider, Sarah Ennis, won the class with Greenhall Granuaile (228), owned by Joan O’Connor, this makes it three from three in the series from this impressive grey mare. Last week’s winner, Heidi Hamilton and Johann-Some filled the runner-up berth on a score of (221.5) and third place went to the unnamed Watermill Swatch gelding ridden by Daniel Alderson on a mark of 219.

Sarah Ennis made it a double as she also won the 5yo section; Stellor Quickchange, by Olympic Lux out of the Religiously mare, Notsoholy, the combination scored a mark of 224.5. The runner-up spot went to Fraser Duffy and Fernhill Amigo on 214, and third place to Aoife Quigley with Kilcandra Vanessa on 214.5.

Gorey rider, Dale Adams, was third in the Oulartleigh Stud Pony section with Cha Cha Cha on a mark of 191. Killian Murphy, Kilkenny, took both first and second places with Anne Fields Hector (205) and Cullintra Bonfire (191.5).

The Thoroughbred section, sponsored by Willie Mullins, was won by Destination Street, ridden by Izzy Leadbitter, owned by her partner, Thomas Byrne, former inter county footballer, on a score of 165.5.

The final of the league takes place next Wednesday the 25^th of April.
