A woman in her 20’s is in a serious condition in a Dublin Hospital tonight after being airlifted from the roadside on the N80 following a road traffic collision involving a bus at Ryland Lower, between Bunclody and Clohamon.

The crash happened at around 11am and the bus, which was carrying around 20 children, believed to be from Carlow, and two cars were involved in the collision.

A second person in the collision was removed to Wexford General Hospital. None of the children were injured.

A fleet of ambulances, the fire service and Garda cars attended the scene and a helicopter was called to assist the emergency services.

The N80 was closed between Bunclody and Clohamon and diversions were put in place throughout the day. The road re-opened shortly after 7 pm.
