GREYHOUND RACING- RED MILLS Unraced First Round

A brave crowd braved the elements for the opening round of the Connolly’s RED MILLS which took place in Enniscorthy Greyhound Track on Bank Holiday Monday night.

 

Telex Diamond scored a trap to line success to record the fastest time of the night in 29.20, this home bred bitch is owned by Leanne Butler, Rathaspeck.

 

Heat two went the way of Daniel Frayne’s, Suzies Mick, the home bred son of Southest Suzie, scored in similar fashion in 29.66.

The third heat produced another local winner, Niamh Murphy’s, Ballinaboola Mia, she made every yard of the running to stop the clock in 29.46.

The 78ilb, Ninja Burgess, made full use of his weight advantage to run out an impressive winner of heat 4 when staying on best to win in 29.69 for Martin Fortune.

Tom Codd, Woodlands, was responsible for Jeevy, he scored an all the way success to claim heat 5 in 29.86. The eyecatcher here was Ms Laura Earle’s, ITS SCIENTIFIC, a litter comrade of the winner in heat two, the son of Crash fell from the traps and came from the next parish to claim the third qualifying position.

The sixth heat of the competition went over the border to Kilkenny as Cill Dubh Pearl stayed on best to win in 29.89 for Michael Bergin.

Heat 7 was won by the well bred Geniune Blake, trained by Willie Finn, Waterford, in 29.74.

Another Waterford raider, Blackhill Rock, owned by Christine Evoy, turned in promising performance to claim the penultimate heat in a fast 29.42.

The final heat of the night was also for export, as the Peter Cronin trained Coolside Walker, scored a trap to line victory in 29.57.

The six second round heats take place next Monday night, the 26th of March, at the Ross Road circuit.
